While it was easy to book online and my partner and I had absolutely no problems with vans having "offensive" graffiti and being a bit rough (honestly why we chose the company), we DID have a problem with the THREE hour wait it took to get our van. Website easy to navigate and booking procedure straightforward. But that's all good I have to say on this awful company. We travelled to Australia in April 2017 and hired a so-called premium campervan paying a significant amount more for this upgraded option. When we arrived to collect the vehicle we were given one of their regular vans with graffiti all over it , quite the opposite of the premium vehicle we had paid for. Rip off! Stole my Money!!! Gave me a 4WD with 30 L tank... just ridiculous for WA distances. Didn't even bother to discuss the issue. After ages the told me they would refund the spare fuel tank i bought - but they never did! Unfriendly stuff!
Disgusting mysogynistic, sexist and vile company not to mention their filthy vans. This company should not be in business and if you support them you support sexism and misogyny. Avoid at all costs.
I've been booking Wicked campers for the last 5 years in March and December for only a 5 day van hire for a music festival i go too, cost of the van is $500 for 5 days I only got a 10% discount once , Just last week was the last time I booked a 3 sleeper late last year when i went to pick up van they gave me a 2 sleeper they went on to say all our vans are booked out sorry, After all the years i booked with them they did not look after me this van they gave me leak fumes in the van, Not nice to drive 3 hours one way 3 hours ... read more
Making the booking was easy because it was all done online and they had your money before you got the van, but when we went to pick it up in Hobart the customer service was terrible. We are 2 over 70's who don't mind roughing it but we had been promised a TAME (read Non psychedelic) white vehicle. BY FAR THE WORST CAR RENTAL EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD. From the moment I picked up the car, I was given nothing but a bad product, and even worse customer service. To start, they only have one employee in the middle of a parking lot, so I had to wait 2 hours before I could even get my car. Second, the car itself was barely road worthy. As above, had to chase Wicked Camper for weeks after my holiday and eventually found out from [name removed] in head office that they had refunded the money to someone else's card that wasn't even part of my group! On enquiring what the name was on the card that it was refunded to she stopped replying. Completely unprofessional. I'm known in the camping and outdoors community and often make recommendations to travellers, will actively discourage people from using Wicked Campers
The mattresses that were provided in the car were thinner than what children sleep on in childcare centres, the windscreen wipers were absolutely hazardous as they did nothing but smudge the water everywhere nearly causing us to be in an accident in the rain as we couldn’t see.
