For a company that has ‘don’t be a crap’ stickers every 30cm in their office they’re really not great at not being craps. Waited at least 10 minutes whilst another group was served without even as much as an acknowledging glance from the woman serving. Another 10 minutes after she showed them to their car she came back. Four of us hired a wicked camper over the New Years period in Tasmania for 7 days costing $1800. The main reason for hiring this camper over a car and staying in accomodation was the fact it was advertised with a showering facility and fridge. The fridge had blown a fuse prior to us picking up the vehicle and was therefore not charging. We did not identify this until after we left however, we returned to the depot and the staff were amazing. All were really friendly and replaced the fuse promptly, even giving us a spare. I have been using Wicked Campers for many years all throughout Europe. I have loved using the company for the way they design the interior of the vans and paint the exterior. I've also had many friends work for the company so know about the operations and how they are meant to handle customers and the vehicles. My experience with hiring a van in Hobart, Tasmania was utterly appalling. To begin, the company has lost their personal touch in customer service experience. I‘m totally unhappy with this company. We had this o return our car at 4pm but they told us it’s totally fine to call in if we might not be able to be this early and return it later. We called in because the traffic was really busy and the manager told us we had to pay 100$ if we won’t be there by 4pm. In the end we were 4 minutes to late and the door was closed. As we called the manager to handle the situation, she just hang off. Really unfriendly! Although our car looked nice it wasn’t worth it!
They take your money before you get the car so you really have no idea how bad things are until its too late. Vehicle seriously NOT roadworthy. 1cm deep "mattresses", dishes all dirty, curtain (only ONE) broken and torn, water pump didn't work and if you poured water down the sink, it poured back into the car. Car couldn't go over 80km. Broke down on us on 31/12 and couldn't get roadside assist until 2/1 due to "public holiday". Do yourself a favour and do not use this company. The vans are absolutely putrid and they run a scam after returning where they try to not give you bond back! Its amazing they're allowed to operate in Australia.
rude, car was not road worth, rolled backwards down the hills - nearly causing an accident due to 300kg tent on top too heavy for the car (which was not road worthy) had to return the car and ruined the trip of 3 people + 2k gone no alternative was offered, staff didn't want to disclose their names and pointed to HQ
Hired a van in Australia. We ended up covered in bed bug bites! Filthy stained mattress. Terrible customer service. They are just interested in getting your money
We had a dream trip RUINED by these budget horror houses on wheels. First the car broke down, and took 2 days for a replacement. The 'new' van leaked both RAIN and EXHAUST and the whole trip we had to drive with a window down. Then on return after our complaints they decided, after receiving the car in just fine, 2 days later to claim there were issues and they held our bond!! They refused to offer proof of the 'damage'.
