Hired a vehicle for 4 days. Received awful repulsive, bad service from Wicked Head Office staff [Names Removed] and disgustingly rude Manager [Name Removed] during an Emergency. Had to insist to have Wicked rude staff change cars for myself and kids 3 times in 4 days from Arlie Beach to Brisbane due to wicked un-roadworthy vehicle break downs! If you rent a camper van that is spray painted with graffiti here are the things you NEED TO KNOW - Much of the graffiti is quite offensive, lots of sex and drug references. - Many private campgrounds will not allow you to stay as they want to be seen as family friendly. As I read by another reviewer, expect the worst and you might actually end up being happy with this company. As for me considering the price we paid for the camper, I don't feel expecting the worst is good enough, and the poor service and care of the vans can actually ruin your holiday. We picked up our Fantastic 5 wicked camper in Byron Bay from a depot, with the staff there being completely disinterested in showing us the van. Is it correct that wicked campers have no insurance to offer under 21 yr olds when renting out their vehicles ? Great that they rent to young people when other companies don't , but no insurance bet you didn't know that ! All good till you have an accident
The van they issued us was not roadworthy and it literally fell apart when we were traveling on a 100km motor highway. We then had to seek alternative accommodation at a run down motel in the middle of nowhere for three days of our trip whilst we got the van fixed. After many emails back and forth they offered NO compensation for our motel hire.
Honestly would not recommend Wicked to anyone. They are a complete rip off with appalling customer service. We picked up the car from Perth, where straight from the start they had put an outback fee on, which we didn't need. Plus a Kariniji national park fee $150! Which you do not need, and I would still love to know how they have been getting away with charging people this!? We hired a 4WD from wicked campers and was the worst experience ever. The 4WD one day didn't start and all the road assistance they gave us was "hit the starter with a spanard or fine a mechanic and solve the problem and keep with your travells". We finally found a mechanic, but it was not possible to fix the car until 5 days after, so wicked told us they didn't have anything to do and we have to deal with the road assistance, road assistance told us to wait until the car was fixed, they didn't care we had one international ... read more
Booking easy, but as you check out a lot of surcharges raise the total price. Also be aware that the car must be returned clean. This meant in our case (Cairns) that you have to get the car cleaned at a specific company in cairns. This ADDS ANOTHER 50$ ! The car itself was aged and not clean at all. Technically the car was alright. The tent which is placed on the roof was wet and mold on it. Customer service at the pick-up location was horrible. Booking was easy Van was CRAP/ complete crap. Never again Customer service was fine Do not go for the sexist stuff written on van - make it look hip, great ! Make it look sexist and it becomes just embarrassing for us that had to drive it . No NEVER again
