I wouldn't hire with Wicked again. The car was in a very poor condition and subsequently fell apart while we were driving it (A seal fell out, the mud flap fell off and it leaked when it rained). It smelled horrible and the seats were so oily that it stained my clothes (from lack of proper cleaning). As a consequence, we couldn't fully relax, because we thought the car would just fall apart or be stolen. Also, it was not as cheap as it appeared. There was a bond processing fee of $100 (the insurance only covered head on coll... read more
Wicked Campers in Cairns was by far the greatest disappointment with travel that I have endured. The mini camper that was made to look much bigger than it actually was, was small and barely contained my legs. The owners were rude and shameless.
Hired a 5 seater van; $660 for 3 days. You would expect to get a mechanically sound and clean van for that price. But no, the car was filthy, covered in graffiti and broke down to the point that it had to be towed away for repairs. Little to no help was provided from the company... what ever you do, do not hire!
We hired a camper van from wicked for a road trip in WA, although the camper van itself was great, however we underestimated the amount of petrol it used up (we were filling it with 50 dollars every day) the women at the office and customer service was shocking. On picking up the camper in Perth the staff were extremely rude and unhelpful, for example, they didn't show us around the van or how to use any equipment in the van- the gas cooker came with instructions in Russian. We were told that the inside had to be clean on re... read more
I've been trying to get in touch with the company for a while now to get some money back, and I've been entirely unsuccessful in speaking to anyone useful. This is what I wrote to them in an email: There were many problems with the vehicle, and we do not believe that it was roadworthy. We paid over $600 for the vehicle for 6 days, and we should have received a higher quality vehicle. The van overheated very quickly while we were going up hills. Given that Tasmania has a very diverse landscape, the vehicles should be prepared... read more
i needed a cheap car for a few days to go to work and back as my car was at the mechanics. i have seen this ad from wicked campers " cars from AUD 19.90 / Day"! i rented a car which was o.k. but was expensive for what you get - a bashed up hyundai excel perhaps 15 years old and kind off embarrassing to drive but it was at least, roadworthy [good tyres and everything worked] i was offered the obligatory excess reduction insurance which was 30 dollars a day [ 5 day hire $ 150 for excess reduction, $ 100 for the actual rent] i ... read more
The car had a huge leak which got all the gear stick and passenger wet for days. The car also steamed up because of the moisture making it dangerous to drive. Then it smelt of mould for the rest of the week. Road side assistance's advice was, put a towel on it. Enough said.
We rented a campercar with Wicked, because that was the only affordable thing that was available anywhere, though expensive for what you get: a small car with a mattress inside. When picking up the 'van' they showed us to an even tinier car then advertised, with an absolutely filthy and very small mattress. It was just terrible. I didn't agree with this and we got another car, a bit bigger, but it had a terrible pull to the left that made driving very uncomfortable. Another downside was that we would have liked to visit Kar... read more
Booked a relocate car through an independent company. Concerned to find that we were allocated a Wicked car. I phoned to state we needed a car, preferably clean with no grafitti, we were assured this would be OK. Arrived the next morning and were shown to an elderly van with graphic graffiti. I reminded the employee of our conversation and was told that it was irrelevant. I stated I wouldn't drive the van, was offered a car, again covered in graphic graffiti and literally held together with wire and duct tape. Again said I w... read more
