At SOUMAH we are inspired by Italian life and specialize in northern Italian wine and food. From a winemaking perspective, we believe our terroir is similar to northern Italy, with short, dry, hot summers and cool nights throughout. Even the fog that descends upon the Valley in late summer is reminiscent of those lands. Really enjoyed the wines, bit the food is overpriced. $21 for a pizza base with minimal topping. Friendly staff and gorgeous view though.
beautiful place with amazing view and very nice wines!! I loved the Pinot Noir, the Chardonnay and Syrah. Reasonably prices but most of all very well made wines...balanced with the right expression of typicity of the yarra valley especially for the wines mentioned above. We've been her twice, first time 3 weeks ago for just tastings and it was amazing...the staff was knowledgable and hospitable. First experience at this winery a couple of weeks ago was great! Lovely wines and a great view. Unfortunately our return experience for lunch wasn't as great. Service was lacking and the food was just OK. hopefully our 3rd visit will be perfect...I think one of the servers was having an 'off' day and this happens so we'll be back to try lunch again..
Lousy service 45 minutes to clear plates in between meals a man can die of thirst for drink service what ever you do don't ask for bread . Pizza well don't call it pizza its only Pita bread with topping by the way it's been 45 minutes since we finished our wine and still no one has approached to order more drinks Won't see me here anytime soon and won't recommend it to anybody ���
We went down for the day, had a bottle of wine and an antipasto platter. We were charged corkage to have our bottle which was absolutely ridiculous, the platter was also a bit of a let down, there was no dip or chutney which made it very boring and dry and not the best in all honesty. The wines are very nice but very disappointed with the extra changes and platter could of been a bit better.
Came her for lunch yesterday. Food and wine were delicious. Experience was extremely disappointing. It was an very hot day and their electricity went down, which is completely unavoidable and it was our choice to stay and enjoy their gorgeous surroundings. The way the staff handled the situation was terrible. We have just had an unfortunate experience here- there was a power outage just after we sat with our delicious wine to order lunch. Whilst one of the waitresses was encouraging us to 'call it a day', the other let us stay and order some pizzas. Both the food and wine were lovely, despite the extreme heat and newly chaotic atmosphere. When paying the bill, the waitress offered us a $35 per head for food 'deal'- but our food total was only $26 per head... lucky we checked.
