If I could give zero stars, I would. Do not use this company. I have bought and sold many properties over the past 40 years and have never experienced the level of issues I had with Ownit. They provide a fixed-price quote, yet I was charged more than $500 extra for “special” searches that I understood were supposed to be included. Bought and sold a few houses over the years but using Ownit for the first time was by far the worst experience. Trying to go with a local conveyancer but geez never again. Staff who don’t know what they’re doing, very poor communication, asking the same thing many times after already advising them and making up extra costs as they go along. Would never use them again.

We couldn’t be more disappointed after using Own It Conveyancers for the purchase of our home. Any money you think you might save using them, you will pay tenfold when you’re forced to rebook removalists, etc., as our settlement day was delayed twice — with a very real possibility of losing the contract altogether due to the incompetence of Own It. Stop making errors and the Principal Solcitor Ben Schneider needs to stop telling people to NOT lodge a complaint against him with the Legal Services Commission as he did with me. Numerours errors encountered-we had previously used them for a number of conveyancing matters, however, I suggest avoiding using them unless you are happy with a Principal Solicitor telling you that he will just try and bluff the other party even though I believe the error was due to his lack of supervision as relayed to me by the Legal Services C... read more
