RecommendedTucked into a small row of shops on the Pittwater road (200) its unremarkable frontage could let you walk right on past. Up the three or so steps and inside it’s a pleasant surprise. Half an hour wait for toast is less than ideal. Pity as the food and coffee is good �
We dined there last Tuesday and were disappointed. The menu reads well but the dishes we ordered lacked flavour. The bone broth was unpleasant and the avocado side tasted strange.
Food and coffee were really good but service was inattentive and slow. Quite a few staff working but they seem to walk around aimlessly and don't make eye contact so you repeatedly have to call out to get any service. There was only one person (the owner I think) who seemed to be on the ball and he was the one who ended up helping us a few times because he could see we'd been kept waiting.
We we're so excited to try Ruby Lane but ended up very disappointed. It wasn't too busy and we had to wait an hour for our breakfast There was heaps of staff on but not much happening food wise. Won't be back!
This morning was my third time visiting Ruby Lane. I wanted to come back and give it a chance because new businesses need time to iron out any gaps or issues. Sadly my experience this morning was no different. Waited at the 'wait to be seated sign'. No front of house presence. I had my first takeaway coffee from here this morning and I have to say I was not amused. The coffee tasted watered down and burnt. I honestly expected more from a classy looking place like this one.
Slow service - waited 25 minutes for a smoothie on Saturday - Gave it another chance Sunday to wait for 15 minutes for service and 40 mins for eggs...All tables surrounding me was empty! Not apologetic or seem to be aware of the poor service.
