I hired the Johnny Feelgood campervan, and while I was impressed by its design and features on paper, it was need of some serious love, care and attention to detail. I specifically upgraded to the Feelgood because it had a fridge, but by Day 2 it was no longer keeping things cold and the food spoilt. And while providing basic cooking equipment, the matches had been damp and didn’t light. We hired the Jonny feel good 2 and toured the Darwin area and Litchfield. It’s been a great experience I can recommend it. The van has been very comfortable and safe and though I have bought a couple of things to make my trip more comfortable and convenient it has been reasonably inexpensive and a memorable experience. The staff at wicked campers Darwin have been friendly and helpful.
Edit: downgraded review as the Wicked team took far longer than 30 days to return our deposit, and we had to lodge a dispute with the bank to get them to take any action. Original review: We hired a D5 to travel for six days. The fridge drawer does not cool properly and we had to waste some of our food. We returned the car with normal dust on the outside and were charged a $400 cleaning fee which is absolutely excessive. We rented a 4WD camper with a roof tent (Desert Sands 4x4) from Campervan Village (CV) in Switzerland for 6 weeks. The camper had to be picked up from wicked campers in Darwin. Was a bit hesitant at first considering the reviews of people not receiving their bonds back. However had a decent experience with the very friendly staff/owners and got the deposit back within the three days stated. Wasn’t expecting a luxury van for the price and associated history with wicked vans. It did the job, and lots of other travellers loved the paint job.
