I was wowed by the classy interior which definitely surpassed expectations for what I had assumed a pub atmosphere would be. The food was yummy and I loved the short rib croquettes almost as much as my 2 year old loved the fries. We were so full by the generous portions we unfortunately couldn’t order the very delicious sounding desserts
All the food we tried here truly exceeded all my expectations so it’s safe to say that I’m extremely glad I made the time to visit! My favourite dish of the evening was definitely the barramundi. From the flakiness of the fish, the veloute coated clams to the crispy chicken skin - every single element to this dish just works and I can’t recommend it enough. The wild geese hotel is the best modern Irish bistro and bar to visit in Brunswick for a classic pub meal with great flavours! I love that the interior has geese art work to fit with the name. I could not resist ordering the Roast of the Day for $32 available only on Sundays. Not our cup of tea! Beautifully updated and decorated with a very upmarket atmosphere and menu. We were after a pub meal, so it was a bit of a surprise when we got the menu. We ordered the pies, and although they were very nicely presented, they weren't to our taste. Nice place to go out for a special occasion, so if that's what you're after... go for it 😉
Best roast we’ve had in a long time. Everything on the plate was cooked well and tasted delicious! Highly recommend the Irish flatbread and salmon tartare starters too. Staff were all super friendly and attentive and a good selection of wines by the glass, at reasonable prices. We’ll be back.
