We had an excellent experience at Great Lake Physio. Firstly when I spoke to Alison on the phone and she listened to our requirements and made a booking and arrangements to ensure we could get there on time. She was thoughtful in her suggestions and when arrived she continued to be helpful and welcoming. I used to go to Colin at Great Lake Physio for many years. He was an amazing physio, very knowledgeable and an empathetic person. Unfortunately he has left and I went to another physio this week for a back injury. For this first ACC visit I felt I was really rushed, I was asked very few questions, got two exercises and was given dry needling for about 10 minutes which I had to ask her to stop doing, it was so painful. The visit lasted twenty minutes. I felt brushed off and mistreated.
Unfortunately a terrible experience with one of their physios for a painful ACC injury. It wasn't until I returned back to my regular physio that I realised how bad the experience was. I now know why I could get an appointment at such short notice. Won't be returning. Receptionist was lovely though.
I got an appointment for the same day. The first session was 30 minutes for my ACC injury. Booked in for another session the next week, where they took me to the gym to do weights with an injury that was still causing me a lot of pain. The second session only lasted 15 minutes, and I still had to pay $40. Combined with ACC finance, that is a rude hourly rate. Luckily, I forgot to cancel an appointment with Taupo Physio, where I felt understood and well taken care of.
Liz is absolutely marvelous. I went to her with a finger injury and she referred me on to another client as this wasn't her expertise. She has called me twice since to make sure I have received treatment. The follow up was exceptional.
