I have given 3 stars as I feel that there is room for improvement- primarily communication with and between staff, and that with families concerned regarding their parents in care. When residents identify a shortfall, for example more assistance required washing and dressing, I feel that it should be acted upon promptly and in a timely manner, to the best of their abilities. Estia William Street Southport - Best of luck getting through to speak to a person. Every time I phone I get voicemail. Each time ive left a message with my name and contact. Nobody gets back to me. In the last 36 hours I have left 8 messages " press 3 for the wing". No response. Consider another aged care facility for your loved ones so you can phone to check on their condition. I cannot recommend Estia.
The team at Estia at wonderfully kind and caring. The registered nurses and carers all do their utmost to ensure residents are well cared for and happy. Whilst my father didn’t wish to participate in the many lifestyle activities offered, we were impressed with the amount of structured activities that were available for residents to keep them occupied together with a lovely cinema on site and multiple lounge rooms. My mother had alzheimers so was in the MSU section. The staff including reception , lifestyle, & nursing staff were amazing. Even as mums situation worsened they still ensured she was involved in the activities to the best of her ability. In her final days the staff especial Sweter, were so caring & thoughtful to mum & myself. They made her send off such a special occassion. Estia Southport has to be the best nursing home on the Gold Coast. Thanks from a very grateful daughter.
