My gran was at Estia in William street and sadly past away a couple of weeks ago. The staff were so caring and kind, and Marie the manager allowed us to have a really sweet farewell for gran at the home today. The staff are so accomodating and it is hard to know we won’t be going back to see gran. They even put a nice picture with a candle on display in memory of her. She would have loved it. Thank you to all the people who work there for loving my gran like I do. Lola xxx

I am extremely disappointed with the standard of care at this aged care home. Basic needs such as washing, personal hygiene and being properly fed should never be neglected, yet these appear to be ongoing concerns. Residents are vulnerable people who depend on staff for their most fundamental needs. They deserve to be treated with dignity, compassion and respect not left without adequate personal care or meals. I have given 3 stars as I feel that there is room for improvement- primarily communication with and between staff, and that with families concerned regarding their parents in care. When residents identify a shortfall, for example more assistance required washing and dressing, I feel that it should be acted upon promptly and in a timely manner, to the best of their abilities. The team at Estia at wonderfully kind and caring. The registered nurses and carers all do their utmost to ensure residents are well cared for and happy. Whilst my father didn’t wish to participate in the many lifestyle activities offered, we were impressed with the amount of structured activities that were available for residents to keep them occupied together with a lovely cinema on site and multiple lounge rooms. My mother had alzheimers so was in the MSU section. The staff including reception , lifestyle, & nursing staff were amazing. Even as mums situation worsened they still ensured she was involved in the activities to the best of her ability. In her final days the staff especial Sweter, were so caring & thoughtful to mum & myself. They made her send off such a special occassion. Estia Southport has to be the best nursing home on the Gold Coast. Thanks from a very grateful daughter.
