My mum spent the last 21 months of her life at the Aged Care facility. Unfortunately she had dementia. It was a long 21 months of watching her decline with this horrible disease. The staff were amazing, especially in the Memory Loss area. The care and love that they provided to my mum was more than I could have asked for. We could not thank them for making her last few months the best that she could possibly could have had.. Thank you to Mel and the team in this area, I will be forever grateful
I have visited this Home many times and find it friendly with a lot of entertainment. Great conversations and laughs with the Management , Team Members and Residents also. Cleaners are working hard to keep the Home clean also. Most of all I would like to comment on the food. Today I had a Pork Roast and veggies and then a Pavlova with strawberries and cream, which is the same as the resident meal and this is the best meal I have had in a while at a Home and would like to commend the Chef and kitchen Team. The minute I walked in the door I felt welcome by all. Golden grove Estia is such a lovely place, clean and staff are always working hard to achieve the greatness for the residents that live there. If was to choice a great rest home for the elderly, I would highly recommend Estia Golden grove.
After much discussion with the rest of the family, our 94 year dad agreed to try out Estia Golden Grove on a temporary, two week respite. After 2 days he said, I don't think I want to go home. After 10 days, he told us to sell his house as he didn't want to leave. After staying in his old house for 7 years with minimal social contact, he's now talking to people everyday, talking part in activities, going on excursions and thoroughly enjoying the food and companionship. I was in respite at this facility for four days after a very bad fall. I was to re over there for four to six weeks with a external fixator in my leg.On the fourth day I asked the RN when they were going to clean my pins and the four open wounds. Her words to me were Oh I don't know about that! ,and never did come back to do the dressing. I hot an infection after this and had to go back to the RAH for more surgery and z staf fection
