I had a very positive experience when I consulted Dr Sam Iyer today. I was absolutely impressed by his calm, composed, thorough, totally attentive and genuinely caring attitude towards me. He listened to all my symptoms, asked very pertinent questions where necessary and examined me thoroughly. The worse doctors appointment ever and I can’t believe I had to pay $100 for this. I booked an appointment for 12:40pm, I arrived 10 minutes before and I was told that there’s a one hour wait (I had to make the payment in advance). Then I was told it would be 2 hours wait. The receptionist ask if I could see a male doctor so it would take only 10 minutes wait. I went to see the male doctor and it was very disappointing. Great communication in booking and confirming appointment. This is the first time I have been to the medical Centre. Dr Savio Lewis attended to all my queries and was very helpful and friendly. I have spent the past 20 years having a bulk billed GP so it is a bit of a shock to pay the fees GP's charge nowadays. Very satisfied with service form medical Centre. Laverty pathology upstairs Phlebotomist was not great though, caused 2 small bruises and it hurt.
Whilst we were grateful to be able to get an appointment on the Saturday after Christmas, we were not expecting the 2 hour wait that followed. It seems that this is normal for this practice. Dr seemed knowledgeable but a little lacking in bedside manner
Avoid like the plague unless you have time to waste. Like many other patients, don't expect to see the GP at least a few hours after your original appointment as they are severely disorganised. First and last time, don't waster your time here.
