Bought a ube velvet crackle at the city market :) First time trying such a unique flavour and was a bit surprised that the velvety ube texture could be blended so naturally into a cookie! The sweetness wad also at the right level. ﹉ Did not enjoy the pork empanada very much as it was too salty and dry for me... Nevertheless, the staffs were always so patient and great.
🍪 Overall Thoughts Cookies are large and filling, but the flavor is pretty mid for most. Ideal for those who love chunky cookies. The white chocolate pistachio matcha drink was the GOAT. Treated myself this morning at one of my fav little place at Uptown Brisbane - Batch Cookie bar, matcha latte coffee and an Ube cookie. The matcha latte was perfectly balanced, smooth and earthy with just the right hint of sweetness. Perfect indulgence. Made my Friday morning! Huge thanks to the lovely barista Charmaine—always so kind and helpful. I absolutely love being served by her. She brings such a warm energy to every visit. 💜
Got two cookies for myself and a colleague to share before work as a treat. Service was friendly and the cookies smelled fantastic. They tasted good too, not quite as good as they smelled. You have to take the cookies away as there’s no seating. The value proposition isn’t there for me personally if I just want a snack, but it’s a cute gift or pick me up for someone having a rough day and I recommend these cookies in those situations.
The coffee here is excellent! The staff are so lovely, always smiling and go above and beyond just making your coffee. Shout out to Carolina! The lemon drizzle sample I had with my coffee today was so delicious - I must come back to buy it when they make it next. My favourite empanada is the creamy chicken Camembert and mushroom, or the spinach tomato cheese one. They also have delicious jalapeño salsa which pairs well with them. Super flavourful and the perfect breakfast.
