My neighbours and friends, the pool, gardens and community centre are lovely. Management fees have risen sharply in the year and 4 months since I have lived here and it is now a grave concern (not only for me). Residents are at the mercy of Aveo, or any other village, regarding this and although fees are supposed to rise in accordance with the CPI, that is only a guide. I have rented here for 2 years in a fully functioning unit on the rim of the 'rainforest bush walk'. I don't mix much, by choice, but my neighbours, staff and others who pass have been very pleasant folk, respectful and positive. I love my own space and it is quiet and peaceful here with daily bush turkey visits. Just love living here. Would be nice to have a companion tiny toy dog, or cat, that I can talk to, groom, cuddle and take for rides in the car, a friend. Good staff, but the residents are malnourished. They never serve green or fresh vegetables, everything is frozen and brought in, chips beside meals as if chips have any kind of nutrients in them, English muffins with a few bits of ham and melted cheese for dinner, over cooked inedible meat that people with dentures can’t chew, and one resident sent to hospital for malnourishment. The Village is going through some changes which appear to have been badly needed. Thankfully, we are rentees. There is an ongoing issue with several residents across the village concerning respiratory conditions and ongoing mould on builldings which stimulate the onset of these conditions. For us, we are away more than we are at home, but by the time we have been home 24+hours we are experiencing respiratory issues. We are able to leave but owners are committed.
